About US:
The National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders Uganda (NCHRD-U) is an
umbrella organization of individuals and organizations working to promote the
protection of Human Rights Defenders (HRD) in Uganda, united in our mission we
provide a platform for promoting synergy, cooperation, collaboration and
sharing of best practices among HRDs in Uganda to overcome challenges faced.
The NCHRD-U came to life during its launch in June 2013.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Capacity
    Building Officer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
    Humanities, Social sciences, Social work, Education, development studies,
    human rights or other relevant field.
  • Possession of post graduate qualifications
    relevant field is an added advantage
  • At least five years’ experience in
    designing and implementing activities related capacity building
  • Three years professional work experience
    with CSOs in human rights defenders related issues.
  • Excellent track record of inputting into
    and delivering on successful capacity building strategies within the human
    rights framework
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the
    current trends and strategic issues affecting the operation of CSOs in
    Uganda with demonstrated understanding of protection for human rights
    defender.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, develop
    and implement strategies that adds substantial value to the NCHRD-U’s
    programmes.
  • Proven experience in provision of
    technical support, training and mentoring of technical professionals.
  • Excellent conceptual, presentation and
    communication skills particularly in developing technical reports,
    materials, guidelines, standards and tools, and must have qualities of
    dynamism, leadership and interpersonal skills.
