The company currently has 43 (forty three) branches in Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono, Jinja, Iganga, Mityana, Rakai, Bugiri, Masaka ,Pallisa, Tororo, Mbale, Lyantonde, Lukaya, Mbarara , Kumi, Ntungamo, Bushenyi and Luwero districts. The major objective of ASA Microfinance (Uganda) Limited is to offer affordable, flexible and need-responsive micro-finance products and services to the economically active poor people in Uganda.

Job Summary: The Human Resources Manager will support the review, adaptation and implementation of the Human Resources Management Policies, take specific responsibility for initiation of the HR Development plan from the performance management system and follow up of the same to ensure availability of adequate skills mix and competencies required to deliver the organization’s strategy. In addition, the Human Resource Manager takes responsibility for HR administration and management of the HR Information system, practices and policy through documentation, data entry and management in line with the HR strategy and objectives.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·         The ideal candidate for the ASA Microfinance Human Resource Manager career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities. Post graduate training in Human Resource Management is an added advantage.
·         At least five years relevant working experience in HR.
·         Broad knowledge, understanding and proficiency in the field of Human Resources Management and ability to work under minimum supervision.
·         Broad knowledge and understanding of national legal requirements relating to HR, including labor laws and administrative law.
·         Broad understanding of employment related statutory requirements, organizational policies, systems and procedures formulation and management.
·         Good Interview, negotiation, listening and counselling skills.
·         Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
·         Excellent planning, coordination and reporting skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
·         Previous experience in all technical areas of logistics operations including procurement, transport/distribution, stock, asset, communications and security management.
·         Excellent analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
·         Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
·         Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
·         Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
·         Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
·         Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
·         Excellent time management and planning capacity.
·         Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
·         Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
