Uganda is a Consultancy firm that seeks to recruit for its valuable client, a
national and indigenous Non-Governmental Organization working to improve the
quality of life and sustainable livelihoods of the poor and vulnerable groups
in Uganda while building a sustainable future.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies
    and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
  • The incumbent will determine the resources
    (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project
  • Keenly review the project schedule with
    senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project
    activities; revise the schedule as required
  • Execute the project according to the project
    plan
  • Set-up files to ensure that all project
    information is appropriately documented and secured
  • Regularly monitor the progress of the project
    and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of
    the project
  • Establish a communication schedule to update
    stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the
    progress of the project
  • Review the quality of the work completed with
    the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project
    standards
  • Write reports on the project for management
    and for funders
  • Communicate with funders as outlined in
    funding agreements
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report
    actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis
    (monthly/bimonthly)
  • Manage all project funds according to
    established accounting policies and procedures
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Project Manager
    (KEMSTAP) job placement should hold a University degree in Natural
    Resources, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Development Studies, or
    related field; A Master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage
  • At least five years’ experience in a Non-Governmental
    organization setting
  • Professional experience in project
    management, monitoring and evaluation as well as managing budgets
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision,
    under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility to work outside normal working
    hours with long hours
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation
    skills
