Presently Village Power has a presence providing access to off-grid sustainable
energy solutions in Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique, Kenya, and Tanzania. Village
Power offers a range of home solar systems to our customers throughout Uganda.
At Village Power we place a lot of focus on our customers; they are at the
centre of everything we do: our products, our trainings, and our after sales
service. Our Village Power Centres (VPC) are the places where many of our
customers first visit us and learn about solar power, they are the places that
customers will come to collect their systems, and they are the places that
customers will come when they have questions about or problems with their
systems.
Job Summary: The Business Developer will be in charge of
building our business at a local level by building local partnerships and sales
relationships with a clear understanding of our brand vision and targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The jobholder will be tasked with making sales
    to achieve individual weekly sales targets as set by management
  • Carry out market sensitizations
  • Establish and manage key business partners to
    maximize sales
  • Provide after-sales service
  • Accurately capture the necessary data
    associated with all sales
  • Always maintain a good corporate image of
    Village Power and any other relevant duties as assigned by Village Power
    management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants for the Business Developer
    jobs should at least hold an ‘A’ level certificate or a skill set and
    experience to match
  • Work experience in a targets driven
    environment will be an advantage
  • A fun personality

  • A confident individual
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Passion for selling and rural electrification
  • Proven ability to communicate well
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • A team builder
  • A problem-solving attitude
  • Working knowledge of local languages
  • Technical knowledge of solar products is an
    advantage
  • Computer proficiency (MS Excel, MS Word, MS
    Outlook)
