About USAID Project:
UHMG was
awarded the USAID/Uganda Social Marketing Activity, a four-year cooperative
agreement for a health sector-wide program. The program’s goal is to contribute
to a reduction in new HIV infections, total fertility, maternal and child
mortality, malnutrition and malaria, and to improve access to family planning.
This four-year activity aims to improve utilization of and increase the uptake
of health-related social marketing products and services among under-served
Ugandan consumers and communities in rural and urban areas.
Job Summary: The Regional
Programs Coordinator will actively contribute to the strategic direction of the
Projects regional programming. The incumbent also ensures proper representation
of UHMG in the region, at the district level, increasing UHMG collaboration
with District Local Governments (DLGs) and partnership with other stakeholders
in the region. The job holder also supports and strengthens UHMG presence and
support programs effectiveness in the region with core focus on the community
aspect of program implementation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The incumbent will oversee all regional activities
including planning, implementing and reporting
·        
The job holder will also design strategies and guide
implementation of community component of service delivery in GLCs and sub-grantees
in Family Planning, HIV, Malaria, Maternal Child Health, and Nutrition in the
region
·        
Provide leadership in work planning, progress
reviews and sharing the work plans with the DLGs.
·        
Manage the compilation of the regional progress
reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) for the region.
·        
Build and strengthen partnerships with the district
and other stakeholders for effective implementation of the program activities.
·        
Act as the link between the region and UHMG head
office, district leaderships, GLCs and sub grantees by providing regular update
on the progress of activities in the region.
·        
Supervise the GLCs, sub grantees in the region for
optimum performance of agreed targets.
·        
The job holder will also integrate social marketing
activities to ensure access and utilization of affordable health products in the
region.
·        
The incumbent will support services quality
improvement at all GLCs, Using UHMG private sector quality improvement tools.
·        
Work in liaison with the M&E team to monitor,
track progress of activities and in data management of GLCs & sub grantees
in the region.
·        
Support Good life clinics integrate outreaches
within their catchment areas, and ensure traceable referrals within the region.
·        
Supervise and coordinate all trainings in the region.
·        
The incumbent will also manage all the project
resources in the region (financial and equipment) and ensure proper
accountability in line with UHMG policies.
·        
Conduct social marketing for the UHMG health
products during integrated outreaches.
·        
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Regional
Programs Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant for the USAID Project Regional
Programs Coordinator vacancies should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work,
BBA, Public Health, Social Sciences, Population Studies, any other related
Social Sciences field
·        
Possession of a Post graduate Diploma in Project
Planning and Management is required.
·        
A minimum of four years’ relevant experience working
in program/project management and coordination in a donor environment.
·        
Strong program management skills are required as
well as experience with establishing and maintain operations systems (general
management and administration);
·        
Previous experience working with USAID programs will
be an added advantage.
·        
Computer literacy i.e. Proficiency in relevant
computer applications and databases, with practical skills and experience
required
·        
Highly self-motivated, focused, disciplined
professional, with the drive and dynamism to work under pressure with competing
deadlines, and possess the ability to make an immediate impact.
·        
The applicant should possess the capacity to work
under minimum supervision, and maintain a clean and transparent regional
coordination system while adhering to set procedures.
·        
S/he should be detail- and results-oriented,
·        
Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical
and result-oriented skills
·        
Prior experience in managing objectives with the
customer in mind.
·        
Good judgment, initiative, high sense of
responsibility, tactful, ability to plan, organize and measure outcomes of
interventions.
