Job Summary: The Flight
Attendant will provide personal services to ensure the safety and comfort of
airline passengers during flight. They are administratively responsible to the
Chief of Inflight and functionally responsible to the Pilot in Command of the
assigned flight. AAR Airlift will not operate an aircraft with more than 19
passenger seats in revenue passenger service unless a qualified Flight
Attendant is onboard the aircraft.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Cordially
    attend preflight briefings concerning weather, altitudes, routes,
    emergency procedures, crew coordination, lengths of flights, and number of
    passengers.
  • Routinely
    inspect and clean cabins, checking for any problems and making sure that
    cabins are in order.
  • Regularly
    verify that first aid kits and other emergency equipment, including fire
    extinguishers and oxygen bottles, are in working order.
  • Brief
    the passengers in accordance with 14 CFR 135.117.
  • Perform
    preflight cabin inspection.
  • Manage
    the boarding and deplaning process.
  • Report
    cabin irregularities and discrepancies to the PIC.
  • Carry
    out periodic trips through the cabin to ensure passenger safety and
    compliance with federal regulations prior to take-off and landing.
  • Reassure
    passengers when situations such as turbulence are encountered.
  • Determine
    special assistance needs to passengers.
  • Perform
    in-flight and post-flight cabin duties.
  • The
    incumbent will prepare passengers and aircraft for landing, following
    procedures.
  • Announce
    flight delays and descent preparations.
  • Serve
    as host and representative of the company.
  • Administer
    first aid to passengers in distress.
  • Responsible
    for the safe and efficient conduct of all functions in the aircraft as
    assigned.
  • Must
    ensure that all passengers are fully briefed regarding the use and
    location of aircraft seat belts, flotation devices and emergency exit
    doors and the use of Portable Electronic Devices as specified in the
    Flight Attendant Manual.
  • Carry
    out emergency evacuation as determined in the FAM under the direction of
    the PIC.
  • In
    the event both PIC and SIC (and other pilots on duty) become
    incapacitated, the FA must take command and ensure the safety of the
    passengers.
  • During
    passenger boarding, the FA will monitor passengers for the following:
  • Actively
    monitor passenger carry-on baggage for weight and size.
  • Determine
    if any carry-on baggage needs to be placed in the baggage/cargo
    compartment.
  • Support
    passengers with carry-on baggage to ensure proper stowage.
  • Determine
    if any passenger is transporting hazardous materials.
  • Determine
    if passengers seated in the emergency exit seats meet requirements.
  • Reseat
    passengers in emergency exit seats, if necessary.
  • Actively
    monitor cabin for any irregularities and report to the Captain using
    established procedures.
  • Determine
    if any passengers may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Monitor
    the lavatory for status; i.e. vacant or occupied.
  • Perform
    any other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    Flight Attendant must hold a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must
    have a Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency from the FAA, but are not
    required to carry the certification card.
  • Applicants
    with a B.A./B.S. from an accredited college or university; or equivalent
    combination of education and experience will have an added advantage
  • Ten
    or more years previous Flight Attendant experience is an added advantage.
    Ten or more years’ of previous Load Master experience.
  • The
    incumbent should be knowledgeable of applicable FAA regulatory
    requirements including maintenance of adequate rest periods before each
    assigned flight.
