Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Project Officer-Research and Documentation will be responsible for
    planning and coordinating  the initiation
    of the research study protocol, and the establishment of operating
    policies and procedures in line with the partnering institutions of higher
    learning and the approving institutions within Kitgum Cluster
  • Ensure
    the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data
    collection and MSC documentation activities within the Cluster
  • Serves
    as the primary point of contact and acts as the principle operational
    liaison on behalf of the Project Manager for all documentation and
    research issues
  • Provide
    a monthly technical brief on the status of the operations, systematically
    writing it to the needs and outcomes of the research and provide a clear
    way forward for the next steps in the processes not forgetting maintaining
    and running the research database
  • Provide
    technical guidance to the Project through initiation and all other
    processes meant to produce MSC on a quarterly basis, this need to be
    integrated into the Cluster activities and produce quarterly publications
    to that effect.
  • Actively
    participating in the research subjects, making sure that it is fed into
    the World Vision connection website in liaison with the communication
    department at National office for the MSC issues.
  • Attract
    and supervise intern students both at undergraduate and graduate studies
    in the fields of Community Medicine, Public Health, Health social sciences
    and development studies, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pediatrics, Obstetrics
    and Gynecology to participate and offer peer review of the status of the
    research on an annual basis from the different recognized institutions
    both in Uganda and donor country.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Project Officer-Research and Documentation should
    hold bachelor’s Degrees in Public health, Nutrition, Nursing, Social
    Sciences, Statistics, or related field. Possession of a Post Graduate
    training in Monitoring and Evaluation
  • A
    minimum of three or more years in operations research and documentation in
    an NGO
  • Past
    experience working with media (news, entertainment, print, advertising)
  • Significant
    experience in the MNCH Program implementation and management
  • Good
    knowledge and understanding of BCC, IPC and training techniques
  • Possess
    highly effective communication, documentation and writing skills.
  • Past
    experience with developing and delivering knowledge sharing programs.
  • Previous
    working experience in establishing effective partnerships within and
    outside the organization.
  • Experience
    in working with Local Government Health System and Health Management
    Information System
