Shift Supervisor – Beverages Plant at Mukwano Group of Companies

The Mukwano Group of Companies is the leading manufacturer of Fast
Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in the Great Lakes region, producing a wide range
of market leader brands in soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents,
beverages, personal care products and plastics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and take responsibility for a production
    shift and submit daily shift production reports
  • Mentor, assign work and provide technical
    guidance and support to subordinates in the manufacturing department
  • Manage the preventive maintenance and
    report any malfunctions of the machines to the productions Officer.
  • Works closely with the productions officer
    assist in the appraisal and performance of subordinates
  • Actively participate in routine stock
    taking at the plant.
  • Actively monitor movement of finished
    products from the production plant to the warehouse.
  • Maintains quality services by establishing
    and enforcing organization standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment
    by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points,
    equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies
    and procedures.
  • Be vigilant and pay detailed attention to
    production of quality products
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should possess a Diploma or
    Degree in industrial chemistry, food science and engineering related
    courses.
  • A minimum of four or more years’ relevant
    experience in a manufacturing plant in a supervisory position (Water
    bottling and food processes)
  • Detailed working knowledge of HACCP and
    general ISO standards
  • Possess the ability to stand and work for
    long hours
  • Highly effective supervisory skills
  • Possess the ability to control man power,
    should be good in calculations,
  • Positive attitude, self-driven, flexible,
    results focused, team player, creative, innovative and contain under
    pressure with minimum supervision.
  • S/He should have effective report writing,
    communication and good customer care skills
