local authorities to rescue victims of violence, bring criminals to justice,
restore survivors, and strengthen justice systems.  The International Justice Mission (IJM)
Uganda is working to eliminate property grabbing in Uganda by bringing rescue
and restoration to individual victims, accountability to their perpetrators,
and transformation to the public justice system as a whole. 
Job Summary: The Driver/Special Assistant will support
IJM’s Finance and Logistics Team in providing transportation and other
assistance to IJM’s staff, clients, and guests and, thereby, enable IJM Kampala
to seek justice for widows and orphans victimized by property grabbing.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
1. Transportation and Maintenance:
  • Drive
    IJM’s vehicles for IJM staff, clients, and guests for business purposes;
  • Maintain
    records of the use, condition, and fuel consumption of IJM vehicles; and
  • Manage
    cleaning, maintenance, repair, fueling, and upkeep of IJM vehicles.
2. Casework Support:
  • Provide
    navigation and translation support for IJM staff;
  • Offer
    security support at IJM-sponsored mediations and meetings;
  • Perform
    miscellaneous casework related tasks (liaising with land brokers,
    delivering aftercare supplies, assist with surveys, run errands, etc.) as
    needed; and
3. Hospitality:
  • Cordially
    welcome international guests and staff at airport and hotels;
  • Assist
    in hosting guests, visitors, and volunteers;
4. Development:
  • Participate
    in IJM programs in professionalism and Christian spiritual formation.
  • Perform
    other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    Driver/Special Assistant should have a minimum of five or more years’
    experience as a professional driver;
  • Hold
    a Valid Driver’s License, certificate from defensive driving course, and
    experience driving manual vehicles on rough terrain;
  • Knowledge
    of geography and roads of Kampala, Mukono and surrounding areas;
  • Good
    knowledge and understanding of maintenance requirements for
    four-wheel-drive vehicles;
  • Familiarity
    with pricing for vehicle maintenance and repair;
  • Fluency
    in English and Luganda, with excellent writing and speaking in both; and
  • Computer
    literacy skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Mature
    orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed;
  • Passionate
    commitment to IJM’s mission and values;
  • Professional
    in demeanor, appearance, writing and oral communication;
  • Works
    well under stress with a sustained positive attitude;
  • Exceptionally
    high level of honesty and integrity;
  • Intelligent,
    organized, creative and proactive problem solver; and
  • Ability
