The International Justice
Mission is a global organization that protects the poor from violence
throughout the developing world. International Justice Mission partners with
local authorities to rescue victims of violence, bring criminals to justice,
restore survivors, and strengthen justice systems.  The International Justice Mission (IJM) Uganda
is working to eliminate property grabbing in Uganda by bringing rescue and
restoration to individual victims, accountability to their perpetrators, and
transformation to the public justice system as a whole. 
Job Summary:  The IJM Casework Administrator will have the
opportunity to bring substantive relief to widows and orphans by coordinating
IJM’s intervention into cases of property grabbing, maintaining and training
IJM staff on effective case management systems, and coordinating with Courts
and other government actors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Case Management and
Tracking:
  • Manage
    the case tracking management systems;
  • Evaluate
    and develop case tracking and management strategies;
  • Ensure
    that Casework departments are accurately recording case related data on
    paper and electronic case tracking management systems;
  • Manage
    case pipeline and timeframes, identify inefficiencies, and make
    recommendations to Director of Casework on how to effectively process IJM
    cases;
  • Assist
    the Director of Casework and Heads of Department to coordinate efforts of
    the Casework departments and to delegate assignments, workloads, and
    tasks; and
  • Carry
    out trainings for new and current staff on IJM’s case tracking and
    management systems.
2. Casework Monitoring,
Evaluation, and Reporting:
  • Support
    in the development and embed systems to track the collection, review and
    use of Casework monitoring data;
  • Actively
    coordinate and participate in the collection, reporting and analysis of
    casework monitoring data;
  • Compile,
    edit, and submit monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports produced
    by the office.
3. Case Intakes:
  • Coordinate
    case intake and client screening based on established criteria; and
  • Evaluate
    and develop case intake and client screening strategies.
4. Legal Support:
  • Ensure
    that government offices take the necessary action to bring relief to
    victims and accountability to their perpetrators;
  • File
    and collect documents with third parties and governing authorities; and
  • Support
    IJM Attorneys and government actors to organize and conduct mediations,
    family meetings, and negotiations.
5. Development: Actively participate in IJM programs in
professionalism and Christian spiritual formation.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate should hold a Degree in law or other relevant field;
  • Successful
    completion of LDC preferred;
  • At
    least two or more years of experience as a practicing attorney preferred;
  • Two
    or more years of experience working with electronic databases or case
    tracking software preferred;
  • Excellent
    critical thinking, legal analysis and oral and written advocacy skills;
  • Excellent
    computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel; and
  • Driver’s
    License preferred.
  • Mature
    Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed;
  • Highly
    passionate commitment to IJM’s mission and values;
  • Professional
    in demeanor, appearance, writing and oral communication;
  • Works
    well under stress with a sustained positive attitude;
  • Exceptionally
    high level of honesty and integrity;
  • Intelligent,
    organized, creative and proactive problem solver;
  • Ability
    to cooperate effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Fluency
    in English and Luganda, with excellent writing and speaking in both;
