Job Summary: The Office
Assistant will offer a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the
head office of MAP International, Uganda Program. The incumbent will offer
guidance and back up to the Administrator in running all office errands and
undertaking office management tasks. The jobholder will also develop routine
strategies to ensure all areas of the office are maintained to high standard of
cleanliness. The incumbent will also work closely with the Administrator in
ensuring that all office management tasks have been satisfactorily handled.

ensuring that all office management tasks have been satisfactorily handled.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Clean office floor, windows, desks, walls,
wardrobes, washrooms, cars, motorcycles, drug and stationery store etc on
a daily basis so that they are presentable to staff and visitors. Report
any damage of office furniture, equipment and window panes that need
repairs. - Ensure cleanliness of utensils, computer
covers and curtains - Ensure the wash rooms have all the
required soap, detergents, tissues, water in jerricans etc - Ensure adequate supplies of water in
office at all times. - Set and arrange desks in order before
8.00am. By 8.00am as other staff members arrive, the desks should have
been dusted, items on them put in order and furniture well organized. - During trainings, meetings and devotion
ensure whiteboards are clean; markers are available and room for event is
set. - Prepare and serve tea to staff by 8.30am.
This is to ensure that staff going for field trips by 9.00am can access
office tea before departure. - Run all office errands- check mail from
post office, distribute mail and any other errands as come up in the
office including moving documents from office to office. - Ensure that all electrical appliances are
switched off and all windows and doors are securely locked at close of the
day’s office work. - Assist in typing and undertaking clerical
duties - Assist in filing
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant must hold an A’ Level
Certificate - Possession of a Certificate in Office
Practice & Management will be an added advantage. - A minimum of three years’ working
experience, in an NGO environment or a recognized institution. - Good communications skills — interpersonal,
written and verbal. - Good computer knowledge.
- Possess the ability to solve practical
problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where
only limited standardization exists. - Highly innovative and flexible person.
- Good working knowledge and experience in
other cultures and languages within Uganda. - Ability to work as team player in a
stressful working environment
