Job Summary: The Community
Development Facilitators will serve as catalysts, community mobilizer,
community change agent encourager, partnership negotiator, and builder of the
capacity of HHs, local partners, facilitating the emergence and strengthening
of community – led initiatives/innovations to improve and sustain the well-being
families through livelihood and food security activities.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Communicate effectively MAP’s identity,
    mission, vision, values and our approach to coordinate and facilitate
    development processes effectively towards the well-being of households in
    the communities.
  • Build and grow strong and diverse
    relationships within HHs/ village communities and partner communities,
    actively learning and understanding their realities.
  • Understand the donor/community environment
    and be an effective facilitator of interventions or innovations that
    involve both parties.
  • Actively facilitate community development
    in food security and livelihoods activities under the NUSAF2 program
  • Build community capacity & partners in
    prioritize projects, project planning, and implementation, monitoring and
    reporting processes relevant to assigned areas
  • Raise awareness and facilitate critical
    analysis of community issues and opportunities.
  • Facilitate visioning and planning
    processes with community members – especially the most vulnerable, and
    within community based groups.
  • Assist stakeholders and community partners
    to identify and mobilize community resources needed for project
    implementation.
  • Actively participate in feedback,
    reflection and learning activities of the relevant stakeholders
  • Work closely with the M&E Officer,
    project Assistants, Data clerk, Sub county Supervisor, Parish supervisors,
    community mobiliser and CPMCS
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The candidates must hold a Diploma in any
    Social Science, public administration or any related field.
  • Possession of a Certificate in Education
    and Development Studies is an added advantage
  • At least two to three years’ experience in
    a related field.
  • Past experience with donor-funded,
    community projects is preferred.
  • Computer literacy skills and proficiency
    in Ms Office packages, data handling and usage of Internet.
  • A background and good understanding of
    food Security and livelihoods is a MUST.
  • Possess the ability to demonstrate
    Community development skills.
  • Good monitoring and report writing skills.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and
    able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to ride a motorbike an added
    advantage.
