Associate – Governance will be responsible for ensuring effective delivery of
the Governance programme by entering and managing data, and supporting
programme implementation consistent with United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP) rules and regulations. The Programme Associate works in close
collaboration with the operations, programme, and projects staff in the UNDP
country and headquarters offices, as required, for resolving complex finance-
related issues and exchange of information.

- Support
the management of the Governance programme; - Provide
administrative support to the Governance Programme Team; - Support
to resource mobilization; - The
incumbent will also facilitate knowledge building and knowledge sharing in
the area of Governance. - Technically
supports formulation of programme strategies and implementation of the
Governance programme focusing on achievement of the following results: - The
UNDP Program Associate will be responsible for collection and presentation
of Governance background information for preparation of United Nations;
Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF), Country Programme Document
(CPD), Country Proramme Action; Plan (CPAP), effective application of
Results Based Management (RBM) tools and establishment of Governance
management targets; - Intuitive
presentation of background information for to inform formulation of
projects, drafting of project documents, work plans, budgets and proposals
on implementation arrangements.

- Creation
of a project in Atlas; - Preparation of required budget revisions;
- Revision
of project award and project status; - Rigorous
tracking of un-utilised funds; - Facilitate
operational and financial close of a projects; - Provision
of guidance to the executing agencies on routine implementation of
projects; - Presentation
of information required for audit of projects; - Provision
of support to the implementation of audit recommendations;
support focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Review
of projects Financial Reports; - Timely
preparation of non-Purchase Order (PO) vouchers for development projects; - Maintenance
of the internal expenditures control system which ensures that vouchers
processed are matched and completed; transactions are correctly recorded
and posted in Atlas; - Timely
corrective actions on un posted vouchers, including the vouchers with
budget check errors, match exceptions, unapproved vouchers; - Creation
of requisitions in Atlas for development projects registers of goods
receipt in Atlas; - Making
budget check for requisitions, purchase orders, and vouchers.

the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Governance trainings
for all staff; - Support

- The
ideal candidate for the UNDP Programme Associate – Governance vacancy
should possess a good University Degree in Business Administration or a
relevant Social Sciences field would be desirable; - Specialized
certification in accounting and finance would be an asset; - Professional
Prince2 training and certification, RMG would be an added advantage. - At
least six years’ progressively responsible administrative or programme
experience is required at the national or international level; - Past
exposure and experience in the usage of computers and office software
packages (MS Word, Excel, etc); - Advanced
knowledge of spreadsheet and data base packages; - Experience
in handling web based management systems; - Working
knowledge of the Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, such as ATLAS would
be an added advantage.
