Key Duties and Responsibilities: The External
Sales Executive will primarily;
  • Manage
    the selling process to external customers, including pricing contract
    negotiations
  • Pro-actively
    search, qualify, develop and engage into new customer relationships
  • Own
    strong, multi-level relationships with new and existing customers
    (including main decision makers and influencers)
  • Actively
    engage Customer Service into relevant customer contacts to improve
    strategic relationships, to proactively resolve problems
  • Analyze
    Market Intelligence sources and use data to drive sales efforts and lead
    generation
  • Actively
    manage key stake holders at origin and other contact offices to ensure
    relationships are built and used to ensure Safmarine visibility is
    improved
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The
    applicant should drive and grow up-sells to existing accounts, focusing on
    growth and profitability
  • Possess strong
    ability to qualify leads
  • Possess a
    strong ability to develop winning customer value propositions
  • Skills in
    successfully managing negotiation processes
  • Builds
    strong and lasting relationships at all levels, focusing on decision
    makers and influencers
  • Builds
    and maintains a strong network of customers
  • Thoroughly
    understands customer drivers, needs and requirements
  • Leverages
    internal and external financial data to build winning strategies and
    understand account economics
  • Builds
    and executes winning account strategies
  • Has good
    product knowledge
  • Have knowledge
    about market, competitor and industry trends
