About New Vision:
The Vision Group incorporated as the New Vision Printing &
Publishing Company Limited (NVPPCL), started business in March 1986. It is a
multimedia business housing newspaper, magazines, internet publishing,
television, radio broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising and
distribution services. NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with an
expected turnover of over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Camera Person will be shooting
    sequences both in the studio and on location that will be used to produce
    TV programs.
  • Read/interpret camera script/cards
    designed by producers /directors to produce the relevant shots.
  • Willingness to take operational
    instructions from / advising the filming teams on the best visual
    compositions for the best results during the filming exercise, (dry
    runs/actual filming both in the studios and on location.)
  • Feeding information into the Autocue and
    operating it
  • Transcribing the ‘shoot’ and writing
    scripts for News/Programming.
  • Reading and interpreting the floor chart
    during recording.
  • Perform any other duties and
    responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • The New Vision Camera
    Person must hold a Diploma in Journalism or a related field
  • Excellent computer
    skills in using a wide range of audio-video designing software
  • Three or more years’
    experience in the Broadcast industry
  • Ability to work with a
    wide range of professional video cameras in multi- and single-camera
    operational conditions,
  • Highly dependable and
    a good team player especially during productions.
  • Possess the ability to
    work under pressure and willingness to work unscheduled hours which may
    include evenings and weekends.
  • Possess ability to
    write TV scripts/proposals as well as producing a wide range of TV
    products using a wide range of Video editing software
  • Ability to meet tight
    deadlines
  • Possess the ability to
    create concepts for various TV productions
