CARE Programming in Uganda targets vulnerable communities such as the
extreme poor, internally displaced people, and women and children to provide
assistance and opportunities for sustainable development. CARE addresses the
underlying causes of poverty through its varied interventions
Job Summary: The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for
writing all cheques, and making banking and other bank run needs including
drafting letter to banks; organize, transmit and file CO monthly financial
information inclusive of vouchers, bank information, financial correspondence
etc; ensuring orderliness within the finance department and will deal with all
cash receipts and payments plus handling all cash advances to staff and other
vendors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The CARE Uganda Accounts Assistant should
    presumably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or
    Business Administration or
    equivalent.
  • Professional ACCA/CPA Level 1 will be an
    added advantage
  • A minimum of one to two years’
    professional experience in a relevant field of accounting or Finance and
    Management in a busy environment
  • Excellent computer literacy skills in MS
    Office Applications and any relevant database software is required
  • Prior experience working in International
    NGO (INGO) will be an added advantage
  • Possess the ability to perform a variety
    of standard tasks related to financial resources including reviewing and
    processing of documents plus input of financial data entry.
  • Ability to share knowledge and experience
    plus fluency in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and good
    communication skills
