Job Summary: The Barge Engineer will
mainly be responsible for the implementation of all mechanical maintenance,
service and upkeep of CNOOC Marine vessel with primary function of safe and
successful daily trips to the Barge
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Offer support
    the Marine base Coordinator and Barge Capt in all barge and marine
    activities
  • Play a
    role in identifying and implementing Maintenance and service program for
    all Marine Vessels
  • Completing
    Daily Maintenance and fuel logs, as well as other records as stipulated in
    the IOM Model Safety Regulations for Inland Waterways.
  • Ensuring
    Company HSE policies and procedures are maintained to the highest level
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant should be a trained Marine Barge/Ships Engineer
  • At least
    two years’ experience as  a holder
    of Engineer Class 3 certificate and 1 year as an Officer in charge of an
    engineering watch on vessel of propulsion power of not less than 384 KW
  • Extensive
    knowledge of Marine Diesel and Propulsion units
  • Good
    working knowledge of Caterpillar Diesel engines and Schottel SRP 150/165
    drives would be an advantage
  • Prior knowledge
    of good engineering practices.
  • Good understanding
    or marine operations and procedures
  • Exhibit strong
    organizational, planning and communication skills.
  • Excellent
    command of both written and spoken English.
  • Ability
    to work in remote area
  • Ability to
    perform under tight timelines
  • Produce
    results under stress full conditions
  • Excellent
    team player
  • Highly
    motivated and achievement oriented.
