About ZOA:
ZOA is an
International Non-Governmental Organisation working in Uganda since 1998. Its
mission is to assist in rebuilding the livelihoods of peoples who are affected
by human conflict or natural disaster. We operate in 15 countries in Africa and
Asia. Our community based programme in Uganda concentrates on Food Security,
Livelihoods/Economic Development, Vocational Training, Education and WASH and
is implemented in close cooperation with local organizations and local
government.
Job Summary: The Coordinator Vocational
Training and Income Generating Activities will be responsible for the
implementation of the project on a daily basis. S/he will help the project
manager in providing organisational development support to the partner
organisation and the vocational training centres.
Key Duties &
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement activities and/or facilitates
    implementation of the VT and livelihood projects
  • Ensure monitoring and reporting of projects in line with
    donor requirements
  • Contribute to preparation and planning of projects and provide
    input for new proposals
  • Motivate stimulate and supervise project officer working
    on allocated project
  • Mentor and coach the partner and vocational training
    centers and engage in organizational development of the organizations
  • Build and maintain good relationships with local
    authorities, other organizations and actors linking to the relevant sector. 
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
    development studies, agri-business, economics, education or other relevant
    field.
  • A minimum of three years field experience in the sectors
    vocational training, income generating and/or organisational development
    of rural institutes
  • Experience in promoting youth empowerment through civic
    engagement, and youth development initiatives
  • Experiences in IGA group initiatives
  • Familiar with Project Cycle Management
  • Organisational sensitivity
  • Good planning and organizing skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressures and meet dateline
  • Mature person, who is self-motivated and can work with
    little supervision
