About DICOSS Project:
The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives
(MTIC) received funding from the Enhanced Integrated Programme Trust Funds (EIF
TFM) to finance a project, the District Commercial Services Support Project to
assist the Government of Uganda deliver commercial services to the grassroots
more efficiently and effectively. The project is implemented in 25 districts on
a pilot basis.
Job Summary: The Project Officer will be responsible for the
coordination of the day-to-day activities of the programme and ensure efficient
and effective reporting of the overall programme implementation progress. He or
she will provide technical support in Monitoring and Evaluation of Project
activities; including provision of regular debriefing updates to the management
as and when required.
Key Duties &
Responsibilities:
  • Driving project vehicles in accordance
    with the Ugandan law and DICOSS regulations.
  • Ensure reliability of approved
    transportation and avoidance of unapproved absence from duty station
  • Ensure proper logging of the vehicle
    movement and routine maintenance
  • Ensure expert inspection of vehicle after
    use in exceptionally bad road conditions and ensure that remedial repairs
    are done where recommended.
  • Keep vehicles clean, tidy and presentable
  • Promptly report incidences and accidents
    and follow up on repairs.
  • Ensure the security of the vehicle while
    in use.
  • Perform any other duty as may be assigned
    by DICOSS Project.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant must possess an Ordinary
    level certificate or its equivalent.
  • At least 3 years’ driving experience
  • Possess a valid driving permit of classes
    appropriate for 4×4 vehicles
  • Certification for defensive driving
  • Clean driving record            
  • Prior experience in driving manual 4×4 cars
    with reputable organisations.
  • Good communication skills in English
    language
