About UIA:
Uganda Investment
Authority (UIA), set up under the investment Code 1991 is a statutory agency
mandated to initiate and support measures that enhance investment in Uganda and
to advise Government on appropriate policies conducive for investment promotion
and growth.
Job Summary:
The Investment Executive, ICT is responsible for system and network
administration for the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA).
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The incumbent will be responsible for installing and configuring computer
hardware operating systems and applications;
·        
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
·        
Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving
hardware/software faults;
·        
Offering support, including procedural documentation and relevant
reports;
·        
Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a
system;
·        
Supporting the roll-out of new applications;
·        
Preparing new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password
issues;
·        
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Investment Executive.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Investment Executive Associate should
    notably hold a Bachelors’ degree (at least a second upper) in Computer j
    Science or Information Technology from a reputable Institution.
  • Professional Cisco Certified Network Associate
    (CCNA) certification
  • Possession of Cisco Certified Network
    Professional (CCNP) is an added advantage.
  • At least two years’ experience in a busy
    corporate setting.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and graphics
    design.
  • Good working knowledge of Linux Operating
    System.
  • Prior exposure to the Joomla Content Management
    System.
  • Network (LAN and WAN) design, configuration and
    maintenance skills
  • Computer repair and maintenance skills
  • Good User support and training skills
