About FRC:
Finnish Refugee Council (FRC) is an NGO providing adult education and
community development among refugees in Uganda since 1997 as an operational
partner to OPM and UNHCR.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Community
    Development Officer promote participatory development in adult learning
    and common interest groups.
  • The job holder will
    also be necessitated to design, monitor, conduct and facilitate literacy and
    English language training activities.
  • Offer professional
    mentorship, training and support to local facilitators and project staff.
  • Perform participatory
    assessment with refugee groups on their training needs.
  • Steer the identification
    and initiate relevant methods and practices for literacy and language
    training.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant must
    hold a Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Pedagogy or Community
    Development with experience on adult education programs.
  • A minimum of three
    years’ professional community development work experience.
  • Significant experience
    on carrying out participatory assessments, planning and training.
