positions above in Nakivale Refugee Settlement with UNHCR Funding.
Job Summary:  The Sanitation Assistant will endeavour to
work with the refugees to ensure efficient delivery of safe water, sanitation
and hygiene practices in the assigned zones.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Offer technical support in the
    coordination of Hygiene Education & promotional activities in schools
  • Oversee and monitor the roles of women
    structures associated with water, hygiene, Sanitation and environmental
    programme.
  • Conduct meetings with school leadership
    for sanitation mobilization Sensitization
  • Assist school communities resolving
  • Challenges regarding maintenance of
    latrines and hand washing facilities.
  • Lend a hand to the Monitoring &
    Evaluation team to cover effects of the Water & environmental
    Sanitation program
  • Consultation & discussion with
    beneficiaries, RWC leaders, school health clubs, sanitation committees
    & any other established structures in the settlement on hygiene and
    sanitation issues
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The job holder must possess a good
    university degree in Sanitation Engineering/ Health Education &
    Promotion/ Public health/ Disaster risk reduction or Social sciences.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in a
    similar field
  • Possession of TOT training in either
    PHAST, CHAST, CLTS or DRR methodologies would be a an added advantage
  • Fluency in Kiswahili and Kinyarwanda
