affiliations. Plan International Inc. in Uganda was awarded a 5-year USAID
grant under the Northern Uganda- Health Integration to Enhance Services
(NU-HITES) project to provide technical assistance and capacity building for
Northern Uganda districts in Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Maternal,
Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH), Family Planning (FP) and Nutrition; while
prioritizing the strengthening of district-level health systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·        
Support
15 districts in northern Uganda to design, implement, and monitor HIV
Prevention activities in line with Uganda and PEPFAR policies and guidelines
·        
Design
and support implementation of interventions that address the needs of key
populations in Northern Uganda based on epidemiological data and policy
guidelines
·        
Coordinate
the scale up of PITC, targeted community-based HTC, and linkages to appropriate
prevention, care and treatment services.
·        
Contribute
to the scale up of youth focused HIV Prevention interventions including
increased accessibility, utilization and retention in care
·        
Together
with the Behaviour Change and Communication Team and districts, model behavior
change among key populations, youth and the general population
·        
Contribute
to USAID/NU-HITES periodic reports by consolidating monthly HIV Prevention
reports from districts to feed into the overall project reports
·        
Proactively
participate in HIV Prevention periodic technical review and planning meetings
with districts, the MOH and other stakeholders
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
·        
The
applicant should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Social Works, Development
Studies, Nursing, Medicine or other related qualification
·        
Additional
master’s Degree in Public Health, Population Studies, or related field
·        
Training
in HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Courses conducted by MOH and accredited
institutions will be an added advantage.
·        
At
least five years’ experience in HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment experience
both in the public and Private Sector
·        
Comprehensive
knowledge of the HIV Prevention policy framework
·        
Practical
experience working with MOH, DHOs and Community level health structures in HIV
Prevention.
·        
Experience
in HIV Capacity Building for facility and community health workers
·        
Computer
literacy skills i.e. good working knowledge of MS Office Suite
