Job
Summary:
The Head of
Programs will ensure management of program activities to ensure child
protection, improvement of livelihoods, technical support on Orphans and other
Vulnerable Children (OVC) programing to other stakeholders and increase access
to health services for OVC and their caregivers in Uganda.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead
    the design and implementation of new and on-going programs in accordance
    with the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Coordinate
    overall planning and budgeting of program activities.
  • Ensure
    the effective reviews, monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects.
  • Coordinate
    the initiation and maintenance of partnerships in relation to UWESO
    program thematic areas for all the six UWESO regions.
  • Offer
    technical support to CSOs, Government and other stakeholders.
  • In
    consultation with all staff, take lead in the development of quality
    assurance controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and
    best practices.
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • The
    applicant should possess a Master’s Degree preferred in Social Sector
    Planning, Project Planning and Management or a related field.
  • Progressive
    experience of five or more years in a similar position.
  • Proven
    leadership ability in Strategic Development.
  • Proven
    experience in program design, resource mobilization & grant
    management.
  • Strong
    management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent
    communication skills, both written and oral;
  • All
    candidates with previous NGO experience are encouraged to apply.
