About NARO:
The National
Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) has signed a memorandum of
understanding with Korea Project On International Agriculture (KOPIA). In
execution of iits tenets and in tandem with national interest in addressing the
vast issues of agriculture, KOPIA seeks to candidates to fill the position
above.
Key Duties
and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible
    for planning, supervising and implementing farm plans
  • Responsible
    for all field operations which include ploughing, discing, planting,
    weeding and harvesting of crops
  • Supervising
    labor on the farm for various field activities
  • Assisting
    scientists to set up their experiment
  • Ensure
    properly running utilities e.g. water, power etc
  • Keeping
    proper farm inventories and farm records
  • Ensuring
    proper maintenance of buildings, machinery and other resources
  • Ensuring
    proper storage and sale of excess of farm produce
  • Carrying
    out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director.
  • Monitoring
    and inspecting cultivated fields to determine maturity of crops and to
    estimate potential yields or crop damage from the weather, pests or
    disease.
  • Understanding
    weather patterns and its implications and making contingency plants if the
    planned activities cannot be carried out.
  • Monitoring
    the development and production of hybrid plan.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • The
    applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Diploma in
    Agriculture
  • Three
    years working experience in farm management and research extension
  • Good
    understanding and knowledge of farming principles, techniques, methods and
    systems
  • Demonstrated
    ability, experience and skills to organize and supervise farm workers and
    achieve results
  • Good
    in use of farming machines and electric equipment
