About UEPB:
Uganda
Export Promotion Board (UEPB) is a Public Trade Promotion Organization
established by Parliamentary Statue No.2 of 1996 and supervised by the Ministry
of Tourism, Trade and Industry and Cooperatives.
Job Summary: The Executive
Director will provide leadership, guidance and direction in the day to day
management of all the operations of Uganda Export Promotions Board in line with
the strategic direction set by the Board.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating the development, diversification,
    promotion and coordination of all export related activities that lead to
    export growth on a sustainable basis.
  • Formulating and developing the medium-term
    corporate/strategic plans, annual work plans and budget.
  • Providing technical advice to the Board 
  • Coordinating and building synergies between
    UEPB training programmes and activities with relevant public sector
    stakeholders, donor agencies and the private business association.
  • Representing UEPB at local and international
    export programmes;
  • Providing secretariat services to the board.
  • Management of the organization’s (Human,
    Financial and logistical
  • Mobilizing and managing funds, property and
    business of the Board
  • Coordinating UEPB’s Public Relation, Visibility
    and Marketing.
  • Supervising and appraising subordinates 
Qualifications, Skills
and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate must hold an honors’ degree
    in Management science related fields from a recognized University
  • A Master’s degree in a related field will be an
    added advantage
  • The Candidate requires a minimum of ten (10)
    years relevant demonstrated professional experience, five (5) of which are
    at a managerial level in a reputable trade related institution.
  • Ability to create, inspire and motivate a team
    to efficiently deliver on the mandate of the board.
  • Ability and experience in dealing with the
    Government machinery, the private sector at both and international levels
    and the donor community.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Interpersonal, leadership and negotiation
    skills.
  • Strategic, analytical and decision making
    skills.
  • Knowledge and skill of government, private and
    international procedures and policies related to trade. 
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Communication skills
  • Effective delegation, mentoring and coaching
    subordinates
  • Time Management skills
