Foundation (UK). Gatsby is a fast growing company with branches in Kampala,
Mukono, Jinja, Mbale, Soroti, Fortportal and Masaka. Its Head offices are
located in Katwe.
Job
Summary: The Credit
Supervisor will assist the Operations Manager in the planning, coordination and
control of lending operations.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitors
    and reports on the implementation of loan policies and procedures.
  • Analyses
    portfolio performance on monthly basis and submits recommendations to the
    Operations Manager
  • Plans
    and initiates strategies for portfolio development and recovery of loans.
  • Initiates
    plans for recruitment, training and development of Credit Officers in
    accordance with the loans portfolio development and makes recommendations
    to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Ensure
    that branches operate in accordance with set targets in the operational
    plan.
    Ensures that loans accounts in all branches are balanced and, where
    necessary, corrective action is taken.
  • Compiles
    periodic returns on lending business.
  • Regularly
    inspects the credit departments in branches.
  • Perform
    any other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications, Skills
& Experience:
  • The
    applicant should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a business related field.
  • Post
    graduate qualification in microfinance will be an added advantage.
  • The
    candidate should have worked in comparable positions in credit management.
  • High
    analytical and problem solving ability gained through practical
    experience.
  • Good
    leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
