About UBTEB:
Uganda Business and Technical
Examinations Board (UBTEB) is one of the national Examinations Boards in
Uganda. This is a professional Examinations Board with the mandate to
streamline, regulate, coordinate and conduct credible examinations and award
Certificates and Diplomas in the Business, Technical and Vocational professions.
The Board therefore conducts Business, Technical and Vocational examinations,
including Applied Science specialties such as Biological Sciences
(Agricultural, Fisheries, Wildlife, Forestry, Bee Keeping and other related
fields), Physical Sciences (Meteorology, Surveys and Land Management, and other
related fields), Cooperatives, Social Development, Hotel, Catering and Tourism.
UBTEB is committed to conduct quality applied knowledge and skills examinations
with an ultimate goal of enabling the students to access further upward
academic progressions and employment in the world of work.
Job Summary: The
Statistician will primarily implement research activities surveys, compile
& analyse statistical data.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Generate
    periodic reports and statistics  researched issues;
  • Compile
    & analyzes data collected & submit it to examiners.
  • Compile
    primary data on examination & related matters for action of various
    stakeholders; Carry out statistical analysis for UBTEB examination results
    and cross-cutting issues;
  • Collect,
    analyze, synthesize data relating implementation of UBTEB Strategic Plan;
  • Analyze
    issues on examinations and award and based on evidence generated, advise
    management on course of action;
  • Perform
    any other duties as assigned to the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    applicant should hold an Honours degree in Statistics or Statistics with
    Economics from a recognised University.
  • A
    qualification in data analysis or research methods is an advantage.
