Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) a leading organisation in the Water
sector in Uganda with a Vision “To be a leading Water Utility in the World.”
NWSC is a utility parastatal 100% owned by The Government of Uganda. It was
established in 1972 under decree No: 34. The mandate of the Corporation as
defined in the National Water & Sewerage Corporation Statute of 1995, Section
5 (1), is to operate and provide water and sewerage services in areas entrusted
to it, on a sound, commercial and viable basis. The NWSC operations were
initially in three towns of Kampala, Jinja, and Entebbe.
Job Summary: The Senior IS
Auditor will be carrying out Information Systems Audit Plan and ensuring that
the systems controls are appropriate and functioning well.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute the implementation of the Information
    Systems Audit plan
  • Managing the Information Technology risks
  • Draw up audit programs and procedures for
    Information Technology audit assignments.
  • Oversee and manage activities in the
    Information Systems Audit unit.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should hold a Bachelors Degree in
    Business Administration, Information Systems, Accounting, Engineering.
  • S/he should also possess the professional Certified
    Systems Information Auditor (CISA) Certification or its equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management
    and use of IT- related professional framework (e.g. COBIT, or ITIL).
  • Knowledge of SQL and DB2
  • Knowledge of progress database systems and
    possession of ICT certifications (CCNA, MCSE) will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of four (4) years working
    experience in auditing of information systems in a professional audit firm
    or corporate internal audit environment.
  • High degree of integrity, commitment and focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and bit
    deadlines.
 Age: below 40 years
