About UDC:
Uganda
Development Corporation (UDC) is an investment institution established as a
wholly owned government entity with the mandate to facilitate the industrial
and economic development of Uganda. Established by the UDC Act Chapter 326 of
1952, Laws of Uganda, the mission of UDC is to make long-term investments in
strategic sectors of the economy in order to stimulate industrial and economic
development and thus spur private sector growth. This UDC will accomplish
through investing in sectors of the economy which at times are not readily
attractive to the private sector alone either due to high initial capital
requirements, resource constraints or low returns in an immediate future and
yet provide a strategic bridge that would foster private sector developments
due to minimized risk.
  
Key Duties &
Responsibilities:
  • Process Land
    Applications and land leases in liaison with other departments of
    Government.
  • Interprets the
    existing studies and Plans e.g. Architectural and Engineering Designs,
    physical layouts, surveys etc. to ensure compliance therewith.
  • Coordination of
    provision of services supplies to the projects.
  • Coordinate the
    out sourcing of Technical Services in support of project implementation.
  • Prepare in a
    timely manner, accurate project implementation progress reports which
    indicate both the technical and financial position of the project.
  • Maintain quality
    assurance and facilitate effective project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Support the
    Procurement Unit in sourcing of technical service providers. 
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • The applicant
    should hold an honour’s Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Post graduate
    training in Civil Engineering, Business Management, Project Planning or
    Construction Management
  • Membership of
    UIPE shall be an added advantage.
  • At least four
    years working experience at senior level in handling projects.
  • Knowledge of
    Computer Aided Design
  • Capacity to work
    under tight deadlines.
  • Good Writing and
    Presentation Skills
  • High level of
    integrity.
  • Self-motivation
  • Experience in
    procurement processes
