About Us:
The
Government of Uganda is to implement the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP),
under the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development (MGLSD). The overall
objective of the Programme is to address the escalating problem of Youth
Unemployment in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Programme
Officers will coordinate YLP at the Regional Level with key stakeholders.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • Initiate,
    plan, coordinate field appraisal exercises
  • Provide
    administrative support to the programme activities.
  • Coordinate
    the participation of key Stakeholders in YLP activities.
  • Monitor the
    performance of project and ensure timely production of performance
    reports.
  • Make follow
    up on corrective recommendations made, in order to ensure that they are
    effected on time.
  • Liaises with
    relevant sector ministries where specific sector policies are required.
  • Provides
    relevant information and documentation on YLP to the Programme Manager.
  • Facilitate
    and coordinate production of management reports.
  • Perform any
    other duties assigned from time to time by the Programme Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • All applicants
    must be Ugandans possessing the following:- an Honours Bachelor’s Degree
    in Economics / Social Sciences / Development Studies or related field from
    a recognized University.
  • A Post
    Graduate Certificate in development planning, monitoring and evaluation or
    business administration will be an added advantage
  • At least
    three (3) three years of relevant experience in administration and
    management of development programmes.
  • S/he should
    be conversant with the Log Frame Approach in planning, monitoring and
    evaluation.
  • She/he should
    be comfortable working with computers, preferably with one or more common
    database packages.
  • Self-motivated
    and strong organizational and planning skills.
Personal Competencies: Computer Literacy
skills, Report writing; Team work, Planning, organising and coordinating,
networking, Good Interpersonal and communication skills, Ethics and Integrity.
