Red Cross Society (URCS) the leading National Humanitarian Organization in
Uganda and a member of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is
seeking to recruit dynamic, self-motivated individuals to fill the enlisted
positions; following the support received from the Joint Population Program –
financed by DFID through the World Health Organization (WHO) to Uganda Blood
Transfusion Services (UBTS); to establish three new blood collection teams in
Lira, Arua and Moroto Districts. URCS has therefore, been entrusted by UBTS to
contract and jointly implement activities for this program. URCS is an equal

Job Summary: The Driver will be responsible
for the maintenance of vehicles in the most sound state and ensures safety of
the staff and equipment.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • Drives vehicle as directed by the supervisor.
  • Ensures compliance with traffic regulations.
  • Keeps vehicle in good running order and ensures
    that they are kept clean at all times.
  • Ensures that minor repairs are done in a timely
    manner.
  • Assists with loading and off loading of items
    ferried by vehicles.
  • Assists in delivery of correspondences and other
    documentation to destinations given by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • The Driver should hold an O’ Level Certificate
    with a pass in English, a valid driving Permit.
  • Knowledge in Mechanics is an added Advantage.
  • Accomplished and passed the Ministry of Works
    driving test;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
    skills and the knowledge of local language is an added advantage.
