Land Alliance is a consortium of International and National NGO’s and
Individuals focusing on land, promotion of land rights and protecting the interests
of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized through “Enhancing civic
participation in land governance and resource management country wide.”
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • The Human Resource
    Officer is responsible for providing support in the various human resource
    functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and
    development,  performance monitoring and employee counseling
  • The Human Resource
    Officer provides advice and assistance to supervisors and staff. This may
    include information on training needs and opportunities, job descriptions,
    performance reviews and personnel policies
  • The position
    coordinates the staff recruitment process .The Human Resource Officer
    provides advice and support to supervisors and staff selection committees
    and ensures that they have accurate and timely information in order to
    make effective decisions.
  • Provide information
    and assistance to staff, supervisors and the Board of Directors on human
    resource and work related issues. 
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant
    should hold be
    proficient and knowledgeable in resources
    management, job descriptions development and analysis, performance review
    methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrable ability
    to develop and implement staff training, development and
  • Recognition; undertake
    mentoring and coaching for staff.
  • An understanding of
    relevant legislation, policies and procedures and ability to interpret
    this to the organizational and external cultural and political
  • environment
  • An understanding of
    land claims and self-governance skills
  • Demonstrable ability
    to supervise and build teams
  • Very strong problem
    solving skills, basic counseling skills, negotiations skills and effective
    verbal and listening communications skills.
  • Computer skills
    including the ability to operate spreadsheets and word-processing programs
    at a highly proficient level.
  • Demonstrable effective
    written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports,
    proposals, policies and procedures
  • effective public
    relations and public speaking skills
