Job Summary: The
Officer will be managing community relations at the camp site, in support of
the implementation of the Company operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Act
    as the contact for the Company and the indigenous community to determine
    relevant issues for improved relationships between the Company and the
    Local Community. Developing and managing the relationship with the
    adjacent Local Community.
  • Dealing
    with the community related issues at the camp site on behalf of CUL such
    as complaints and other inquiries which are within the mandate of the
    function.
  • Communicating
    with the site stakeholders about the Company’s operational activities and
    corporate social activities
  • Organizing
    and mobilizing for engagements with the local communities in Hoima
    District especially in Kingfisher area
  • Suggesting
    on perception enhancement activities with site stakeholders
  • Support
    to Company contractors to ensure they adhere to Company Community
    Relations guidelines
  • Offer
    feedback on the community’s perception and acceptance of the Company
  • Facilitate
    suitable consultative mechanisms and procedures to provide a conducive
    environment for partnership between the Company and the community.
  • Contribute
    to the development of information dissemination materials useful in
    stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitor
    the implementation of mitigation projects within the operational area of
    the Company and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Plan
    and deliver or organise public presentations, and inform the community
    members/groups about Company activities and policies.
  • Develop
    and maintain a register of stakeholders within the operation area and
    relevant information for the Company operations.
  • Respond
    to telephone calls, requests for support and enquiries associated with the
    position’s activities from stakeholders and the local communities.
  • Conduct
    any administrative tasks associated with the position’s duties, including
    clerical duties related to writing and responding to correspondence
  • Perform
    other duties assigned by superior.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • The
    Job holder should have completed secondary education or possess a
    Bachelors degree in related disciplines.
  • At
    least five (5) years of environmental related working experience.
  • Work
    experience with rural communities at Albert Lake area is highly preferred
  • Local
    candidates with local language capability at the southern and south
    eastern part of Lake Albert Basin is preferred
  • Hold
    a certificate of attendance at a community based training course is
    preferred
  • Experience
    in oil and gas operations desirable.
  • Knowledge
    of the local community of Lake Albert is required
  • Knowledge
    in implementation of community development project is essential for this
    position.

    IT literacy and fluency
