USAID NCSC Project Jobs – Communications & Awareness Specialist at National Center for State Courts

world. Founded more than 40 years ago by the leaders of the U.S. courts to
deliver on the promise of Equal Justice under Law, NCSC partners with donor
agencies, host-country governments, and non-governmental organizations to create
more effective justice institutions and promote the Rule of Law.
The National Center for State Courts (NCSC) is seeking qualified
Ugandan citizens to fill the below positions for the “Supporting Access to
Justice, Fostering Equity & Peace” (SAFE Program) funded by USAID.

Job Summary:  The Communications & Awareness Specialist is
responsible for managing internal and external project communication,
developing and managing the implementation of the project’s communication
strategy, writing/editing contract deliverables, creating/obtaining content for
the Program’s website, and handling media relations. Extensive domestic travel
is required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure
    that all internal and external communications related to the Program are
    optimal with appropriate language and conform to USAID marking and
    branding guidelines.
  • Develop
    and manage the implementation of the project’s communication strategy.
  • Write
    end edit content deliverables (speeches, success stories, learning end
    dissemination materials, etc.)
  • Responsible
    for all media relations.
  • Promote
    and maintain media material related to the Program’s work and relevant
    news.
  • Create
    Program website and manage website content.
  • Perform
    any other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/
    Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • At
    least six years of professional experience in the media and communications
    industry.
  • Previous
    program/project communication experience preferably on a USAID funded
    project in Uganda.
  • Experience
    developing campaigns to drive awareness of the Program’s objectives
  • Ability
    to travel to partner local governments as required.
  • Fluency
    in English; knowledge of other local languages is preferred.
  • Excellent
    and fluent in the local language
  • Knowledge
    of File Storage and Transfer Protocol (FTP), TELNET, HTML. & java
    script
  • Graphic
    design capabilities and software expertise.
