Justice, Fostering Equity & Peace” (SAFE Program) funded by USAID.

The National Center for State Courts (NCSC) is seeking qualified
Ugandan citizens to fill the below positions for the “Supporting Access to
Justice, Fostering Equity & Peace” (SAFE Program) funded by USAID.
Job Summary: The Communications & Awareness Specialist is
responsible for managing internal and external project communication,
developing and managing the implementation of the project’s communication
strategy, writing/editing contract deliverables, creating/obtaining content for
the Program’s website, and handling media relations. Extensive domestic travel
is required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure
that all internal and external communications related to the Program are
optimal with appropriate language and conform to USAID marking and
branding guidelines. - Develop
and manage the implementation of the project’s communication strategy. - Write
end edit content deliverables (speeches, success stories, learning end
dissemination materials, etc.) - Responsible
for all media relations. - Promote
and maintain media material related to the Program’s work and relevant
news. - Create
Program website and manage website content. - Perform
any other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/
Communications, Journalism or related field. - At
least six years of professional experience in the media and communications
industry. - Previous
program/project communication experience preferably on a USAID funded
project in Uganda. - Experience
developing campaigns to drive awareness of the Program’s objectives - Ability
to travel to partner local governments as required. - Fluency
in English; knowledge of other local languages is preferred. - Excellent
and fluent in the local language - Knowledge
of File Storage and Transfer Protocol (FTP), TELNET, HTML. & java
script - Graphic
design capabilities and software expertise.
