About Us:
The Government of Uganda is to implement the Youth Livelihood Programme
(YLP), under the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development (MGLSD). The
overall objective of the Programme is to address the escalating problem of
Youth Unemployment in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Administrative
Assistant will offer secretarial, administrative and office managerial
services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Taking and
    transcribing dictation and producing error free work.
  • Receiving and
    disseminating correspondences, mails and other information for the office.
  • Organizing meetings,
    taking minutes and circulating information /decisions to the relevant action
    offices.
  • Receiving and guiding clients
    to relevant offices.
  • Attending to telephone
    calls.
  • Making and following
    up on appointments;
  • Maintaining office
    cleanliness and orderliness. x. Managing and accounting for office equipment,
    materials and imprest.
  • Responsible for the
    filing system, departmental registry, office tidiness and equipment in the
    component or unit.
  • Perform any other
    duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • All job suitors must
    be Ugandans possessing the following:- a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or
    equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
  • Should be able to use
    computers with the latest MS Office packages including MS Word, MS Excel,
    and MS Power-point.  
  • At least three years’
    experience as a Secretary in a busy office.
