About CHAU:

Link Up is a global programme designed to integrate Sexual Reproductive
Health and Rights interventions of young people affected by HIV aged between 10
and 24yrs. This global program will be implemented in Bangladesh. Burma,
Burundi, Ethiopia and Uganda The Link Up Project is implemented through a
partnership consortium comprising of The International HIV/AIDS Alliance (IHAA).
Marie Stops International (MSI), Population Council (PC). Stop AIDS NOW(SAN!)
the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS( GYCA) and The Athena Network(ATHENA).
In Uganda, Link Up Project is implemented by Community Health Alliance Uganda
(CHAU) a local nongovernmental Organization an affiliate with The International
HIV/AIDS Alliance, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health. This
project will be implemented in 11 districts, namely: Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono,
Kayunga, Nakasangola, Luwero, Mayuge, Iganga, Bugiri, Namutumba, and Kamuli. 




Job
Summary:
The Program
Manager SRHR integration will provide programming and technical leadership
related to sexual reproductive health activities of the Link Up and other CHAU
related projects to include service delivery, training, supervision, medical monitoring
and FS.
 
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide
    overall technical leadership of sexual reproductive health and rights
    clinical and medical work of the organization including other related
    projects.
  • Oversee
    the SRH integration development, implementation and review of work plans
    and budgets and systems to include monitoring, supervision evaluation and
    appraisal.
  • Lead
    the development and adaptation of the integration models form meaningful
    partnerships with relevant partners of SRHR in supported districts.
  • Lead
    the medical aspects and strengthen the capacity of local partners in SRHR
    integration.
  • In
    collaboration with MOH and in-country partners, provide programming
    guidance and support to implement programs to strengthen SRHR integration.
  • Initiate,
    establish and maintain collaboration with Ministry of Health, district
    leadership
    partners, stakeholders, relevant institutions in the country and region
    with the aim of strengthening the program.
  • Provide
    guidance and technical assistance to country staff and partners on service
    delivery and training and as appropriate, lead training activities in the
    field.
  • Oversee
    medical monitoring and facilitative supervision of supported activities
    and all clinical aspects of the two projects. This includes overseeing the
    use of supervision and monitoring tools, review of service data in
    collaboration with partner sites to identify opportunities for program
    improvement.
  • Provide
    technical clinical and medical guidance in the design and implementation
    of training, and development of BCC materials.
  • Participate
    in dissemination and training activities in the country, region and
    international meetings.
  • Identify,
    with Program Manager: Knowledge Management and partners SRHR integration
    lessons learned and potential best practices related to the current SRHR
    implementation document, disseminate best practices and
    contribute to developing strategies to replicate them in-country.
  • Represent
    the organization at meetings with implementing partners, donors, and other
    external audiences, including technical working groups.
  • Keep
    abreast of groundbreaking work in SRHR disseminate new knowledge to
    organization staff.
  • Other
    duties as may be assigned periodically.



Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
  • The
    applicant should possess an Advanced degree in health, population,
    demography, social sciences or related field.
  • A
    past clinical background in SRH health and family planning
  • At
    least eight years experience in management or sexual and reproductive
    health/family planning or development programs for key populations or MARPS.
  • Possess
    technical experience in reproductive training in Africa, preferably in
    Eastern Africa at both basic and advanced level.
  • Experience
    in fundraising, donor relations, strategy and proposal development
  • Extensive
    knowledge of SRHR service delivery integration in general and in Africa in
    particular.
  • Ability
    to develop, manage, and administer comprehensive programs
  • Excellent
    communication, interpersonal, facilitation skills and experience in the
    use of participatory methodologies
  • Skills
    and experience in managing staff and working with teams
  • Able
    to think creatively to envision, create and implement a program.
  • Ability
    to conduct regular field visits to monitor the various activities to
    ensure high standards of programming, effective use of funds and other
    resources, and to provide TA to in-country and regional partners.
  • Good
    understanding of health programming and issues of accountability to
    beneficiaries and stakeholders.
