Reports to: Manager Insurance
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda




Job Summary: The job holder
will primarily ensure compliance with the provisions of the the job Insurance
Act (Cap 213) Laws of Uganda, 2000 and the Regulations thereof.



Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for off-site and on-site
    inspection of life insurance companies, insurance brokers, loss
    assessors/adjusters.
  • Periodically review licence applications
    for insurance companies, insurance brokers, loss assessors/adjusters and
    insurance agents.
  • Respond to and follow-up on issues raised
    in inspection and other correspondence with insurance players.
  • Monitor the implementation of the
    provisions of the Insurance Act and advises on the adequacy of the law and
    regulations.
  • Review proposals and policy forms,
    reinsurance arrangements and premium rates for life insurance companies.
  • Perform any other duties that may be
    assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The candidate should possess an honors
    degree from a recognized University with at least four papers of ACII or
    ANZIIF.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience
    in life insurance underwriting/claims management in a reputable
    firm / organisation.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills.
  • Possess the ability to work under minimum
    supervision.
  • Good Interpersonal  skills
