Director, British American Asset Managers Ltd with a dotted functional line to
the Chief Executive Officer – Uganda;
Job Summary: The Job
holder will be responsible for building company position by locating,
developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships in the
Uganda market
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • Locate and prospect business deals by
    contacting potential partners whilst discovering and exploring
    opportunities in the areas of institutional sales, property development,
    private equity and unit trust products
  • Identification of opportunities for property
    investment and partnerships
  • Identify and engage potential clients for the
    institutional, property development, private equity and unit trust product
    lines
  • Generate sales for the institutional,
    property development, private equity and unit trust product lines
  • Close new business deals in the identified
    areas by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts;
    integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Develop and manage relationships with trustees
    and gate keepers
  • Prepare service offer tender documents
  • Conduct effective research to determine
    business viability
  • Development of deal pipeline for effective
    deal flow
  • Liaise with head office in Nairobi for
    effective support and turnaround timelines
  • Gather and share industry data to facilitate
    informed decision making.
Qualifications, Skills
& Experience:
  • The applicant should possess a bachelor’s
    degree in a business related field. A post graduate degree will be an
    added advantage
  • Professional qualifications in finance or
    investment related area
  • At least 5 years in real estate, investment
    management, corporate finance, investment banking or stock broking
  • Working knowledge of the investment
    management and reporting systems
  • Knowledge of investments and financial
    markets in Uganda and rules governing the financial industry in Uganda
  • Familiarity with other disciplines related to
    business, such as finance, market research
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of best practice
  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to
    work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
    skills;
  • Business to Business relationship management
    experience;
  • A demonstrated track record of sales.
