Job Summary: The Job
holder will oversee, supervise and monitor the m2rti eMICT care and support
program activities in various health facilities located in the East Central
region of Uganda under the OHTA Project (Optimizing HIV Treatment to reduce new
HIV infections among children in East Central Ugandan the STAR-EC Project
(Strengthening TB and HIV&AIDS Responses in East Central Uganda).
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate
    with Program Coordinator in the development of workplans for the region
  • Supervise
    and ensure effective program implementation at approximately 15 health
    facilities across the region
  • Manage
    the recruitment, training and orientation of Site Coordinators and Mentor Mothers
  • Conduct
    regular site supervisory visits through routine travel across the region
    to ensure quality program implementation
  • Ensure
    routine collection, reporting and analysis of regional data, and data
    utilization to promote program quality
  • Promote
    the benefits of and assist in integrating the m2m program within the
    existing PMTCT services
  • In
    collaboration with Site Coordinators, take lead in developing program
    field budgets, and monitor and report expenditures
  • Carry
    out regular meetings with Site Coordinators to provide technical and
    administrative support
  • Undertake
    performance appraisals for site staff, facilitate and evaluate individual
    training needs, and staff development
  • Liaise
    with district health teams and health facility levels, also forming strong
    relationships with local communities and partner organizations; represent
    m2m at the various districts levels as appropriate
  • Actively
    participate in the m2m management team meetings, reflect on program prog‘s
    and make recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure
    timely communication with site staff and the Country Program Coordinator
  • Perform
    any other duties assigned by the Program Coordinator. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public
    health or nursing sciences
  • Four
    years’ experience in health, community work and PMTCT service delivery
    including 3 years in middle level program management
  • Good
    working knowledge of relevant PMTCT protocols and policies in Uganda
  • Strong
    interpersonal, communication and team building skills
  • Dynamism,
    independence and creativity
  • Experience
    with training and M & E essential
  • Computer
    literacy (MS Office, Outlook and Internet)
  • Excellent
    time management, reporting and writing skills
  • Fluency
    in English and Lusoga required Preference will be given to Ugandan
    nationals.
Conditions: Competitive
