About EPRC:
The Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) is Uganda’s leading
economics research institution. Its mandate is to provide research and other
forms of analytical support to Uganda’s development process. EPRC uses
resources from the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), Government of
Uganda and Think Tank Initiative (TTI) under the International Development
Research Centre (IDRC).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct empirical sectoral policy research
    and analysis
  • Engage in commissioned work for and on
    behalf of the Centre
  • Based on research findings and sound
    analysis, contribute In national policy discourse
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should possess a Master’s
    degree by coursework & research in Economics, Agricultural Economics
    or Statistics from a recognised University
  • Recent graduates of doctoral degrees in (a)
    shall be added advantage
  • Wide-ranging knowledge of and ability to
    apply modem economic theory and methods
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated high level writing skills as
    primary author in published research papers, review etc.
  • Experience working with large household
    survey data sets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and good
    communication skills
  • Self-motivation and capability to work
    under tight deadlines in a competitive environment
  • Six or more years of relevant public or
    private sector institutions, three of which should be in policy-oriented
    work
  • Evidence of publications of own written
    articles in either local or international journals
  • Proven ability to use STATA. EViews, GAMS
    or GAUSS for data analysis
  • Stay abreast with current global and
    national economic issues
  • High degree of integrity
