About Project:
Save the Children seeks applications from suitably qualified and
experienced individuals for an upcoming project that will strengthen and
improve the quality and availability of services in public health facilities in
select provinces within Uganda. The proposed positions are contingent on Save
the Children being awarded the Cooperative agreement for this five year USAID-funded
project Uganda Advocacy for Better Health.

Job Summary: The Finance and
Grants Manager will provide technical support in Finance and Grants management.
S/he will be responsible for all financial matters in overseeing all the
procurement and donor (USAID) compliance including the pre-award surveys for
various partners under the project. S/he will support the Chief of Party in the
review of grant awards for responsibility, determination, cost realism,
regulatory compliance and risk analysis and mitigation.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should possess a Master’s
    Degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or other
    relevant field. The applicant should be a certified chartered accountant:
  • S/he must possess at least eight (8)
    years’ experience in administrative and financial management of large
    donor projects;
  • Experience in auditing and accounting,
    grants and fund management;
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in
    developing and managing large budgets:
  • Proficient in relevant computer
    applications and databases; and strong analytical, oral and written
    communication skits; and capacity building support,
  • S/he should have skills and experience in
    the appraisal and evaluation of proposals and monitoring of grants
  • Demonstrated record of successfully
    managing grants for donor funded programs is essential;
  • S/he shall have experience in capacity
    building of sub grantee organizations and in financial and forensic audits
    of donor-funded projects and programs; She shall possess management and
    communication skills.
