and support services for children orphaned or made vulnerable through the
HIV/AIDS crisis.

volunteer assignment under the Australian Volunteers for International
Development (AVID) program, an Australian Government, AusAID initiative.
Airfares, living allowances, accommodation, insurance and other support is
provided through the program.
Uganda Red Cross’ HIV/AIDS
program targets 2.5 million people through preventative interventions including
HIV testing and condom promotion. It also provides care and support for people
living with HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, and orphans and vulnerable children,
across more than 1300 villages.
Key Job Roles:
This work is primarily
implemented by volunteers who lack the skills to track the implementation
processes, best practices and program beneficiaries. Uganda Red Cross is
seeking support from an Australian volunteer to conduct research and use
web-data bases to improve documentation, information accuracy and tracking.
After reviewing the program and
monitoring and evaluation system, the volunteer will develop user-friendly
tools for tracking qualitative and quantitative progress. They will then train
staff and volunteers in the use of these tools and support their use in
selected projects. They will also conduct HIV/AIDS program research and support
best practice documentation.
How to apply:
To be eligible, applicants must
be 18 years and over, Australian citizens or permanent residents, or New
Zealand citizens with Special Category Visas.
