Job
Summary:
The Head of
Retails will primarily;
  • Interpret
    and communicate overall Retail Strategy as well as the strategy for
    Barclays at Work and home loans segment into implementable short term
    steps.
  • Responsible
    for the overall performance of scheme and home loans in country.
  • Ensure
    co-ordination and execution of marketing and sales plans for home loans
    and scheme loans
  • Be
    the first point of contact for customers for issues and resolutions
    relating to their commitments.
     
Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Business  Management- 60%
  • Responsibility
    for ensuring income for Retail products.  The income targets
    will be achieved by Developing and implementing the local product pricing
    strategy, identifying opportunities for new product developments and
    enhancements in line with the Retail Strategy. 
  • Develop
    & implement customer retention strategy for Retail for consistent
    balance sheet growth. 
  • In
    accordance with their income responsibility, the role holder will
    participate actively in local ALCO meetings, advising on the most
    appropriate interest rate strategy for each product, covering balance
    sheet and income impacts. Also contribute ideas for alternative product
    strategies to manage the Asset & Liability book.
  • Continuously
    review customer segmentation basis and recommend suitable product activity
    to target and sustain viable segments in line with Retail Strategy.
  • Provide
    required support to sales management to hit monthly sales targets by
    engaging Retail Credit & Operation teams where required.
  • Monitor
    and provide feedback to centre on local competitor product activity,
    including pricing
  • Develop
    & implement comprehensive Alternate Channel Strategy to provide BBU
    customers a convenient & modern way of banking.
  • Work
    closely with customer services to ensure great customer experience with
    BBU products
  • Ensure
    all products are aligned with local & regional
    governance  policies
         Ensure
strong cross functional / regional coordination
2.  Team / People Management – 20%
  • Lead
    the Retail Product Team to achieve Retail Business objectives through
    focused Product activities, providing regular feedback to the team on
    their performance.
  • Build
    and develop a high performing team through embedding performance
    development and coaching.
  • Discuss
    and finalize performance Development  Plans and ratings for
    Direct reports
  • Determine
    and manage Training Needs analysis and succession plans direct reports and
    ensure they do the same for all their staff.
  • Effective
    resource management/planning that reflect current and future business
    requirements.
3. Contribution to the Team
– 10 %
  • Provide
    team support where required
  • Provide
    honest, direct and constructive feedback to fellow team members
  • Share
    knowledge experience and best practice with team members and other Retail
    colleagues.
4. Risk and Compliance-10 %
  • Interface
    with the Risk & compliance function at the country Head Office to
    achieve the desired results.
  • Initiate
    and regularly update plans for reduction of provisions/impairment. This
    role is directly accountable for the quality of the debtors’ book for
    Retail.
  • Accountable
    for compliance and control for all BBU Retail products.
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • The
    Head of Retails should hold a Business degree  or relevant experience
  • At
    least six years experience in a Retail Banking management environment
  • Experience
    in leadership of a diverse/ large team
  • Good
    knowledge of product (from Pricing to process)
  • Understanding
    of Retail Business overall for better planning & execution
  • Understanding
    of local & associated markets for better customer offering
  • A
    working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation eg. KYC,
    Anti-money laundering, banking code, service standards, health and safety,
    standards etc.
  • A
    sound knowledge of the bank’s internal departments, systems &
    procedures.
