About AfID:
Our partner, a well-respected international children’s charity, is looking for a volunteer Finance Manager for a 12 month role. This is a great opportunity for a qualified, experienced accountant to gain some invaluable experience within the international development sector and extensive understanding of accounting principles.
Job Summary:  The Country Finance Manager will be responsible for the coordination of all the country finances for the organisations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Offer support and develop and build the in-country finance team
  • Ensure that country offices adhere to all national and local laws and regulations
  • Support Country Director and Programme Manager with 2014 budget planning
  • Develop capacity of local partner organisation finance team
  • Deliver training on budgetary awareness and management
  • Support organisation’s (London) Finance Manager
  • Give reports to institute donors. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Country finance manager should be a qualified accountant
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience working on projects funded by institutional donors
  • Past NGO/ Charity work experience or a history or working abroad/ travelling is essential.
