Reproductive Health Uganda
(RHU) is a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF),
and its core mandate is to promote high quality, high impact and gender
sensitive Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights information and services
through capacity building, specialized service delivery, issue specific
advocacy and strategic partnerships. It is a volunteer owned and led
organization, with the volunteer body having a distinct role to play in
governance, but not in actual project management and implementation.

Summary: The Accountant
will coordinate manage and advise management on Association Finances in line
with the vision of Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU).

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Coordinate
and prepare the financial components of planning and reporting documents
of RI-ID in line with donor requirements - Prepare
annual or donor budgets, control and monitor expenditures vis a vis
approved budgets - Prepare
financial reports both annual and periodic for management and other
stakeholders as will be required from time to time. - Be
of help in external auditing exercise - Conduct
routine audit and support supervision to ensure compliance with RHU’s
financial management procedures - Ensure
accurate records of the Association’s cash and bank transactions - Monitor
the Association’s local income and related projections and guide
management on expenditures - Give
technical guidance and support to RHU management and staff - Manage
and build capacity and appraise performance of the staff in your charge - Perform
any other professional duties as may be required from time to time by the
Supervisor.
Skills and Experience:
- An
Honours Bachelors Degree in Commerce majoring in Accounting, BBA and
membership to a professional body like; ACCA, or CPA - At
least five (5) years working experience, three (3) of which must have been
served at Senior Management level, preferably in a reputable Non-Governmental
Organization (NGO). - Knowledge
and use of Navision Accounting Software will be of great advantage.
