Job
Summary:
The Accountant
will give financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure payment
reconciliations, processing and monitoring of all hospital purchases and
payments are done in time. He / She will play a role in ensuring accuracy of
finances and that vendor and supplier payments are disbursed in line with operational
standards.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct
    the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions.
  • Offer
    administrative support to support office operations.
  • Ensure
    security of financial information.
  • Offer
    payroll responsibilities
  • Do
    timely payments and statutory submissions including PAYE and NSSF.
  • Print
    and distribute financial reports for action.
  • Maintain
    the ledger and update vendor files and submit reports to supervisor.
  • Handle
    supplier inquiries on phone .
  • Receive
    invoices and requisitions for goods and services using SAP accounting
    system
  • Manage
    cheque payment
  • Validate
    that all processed payments comply to internal financial control
    procedures
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • The
    Accountant should hold a Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration and/or
    professional finance qualification i.e.  ACCA/CPA.
  • Knowledge
    of accounts payable, accounts receivable and maintaining of ledgers,
    payroll duties.
  • Good
    book keeping
  • Maintain
    high degree of accuracy in entering financial records.
  • Good
    interpersonal skills.
  • Good
    analytical skills and organizational skills.
  • Excellent
    decision making
  • Good
    communication skills
  • Computer
    literacy skills i.e. ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail
    proficiency.
  • Strict
    confidentiality, Good work ethic, honesty and trustworthiness.
