The Uganda Protestant
Medical Bureau (UPMB) is a leading Christian Organization coordinating over 277
health facilities spread all over Uganda. The UPMB network in conjunction with
Mildmay Uganda received funding from PEPFAR to recruit Human Resources for
Health for some of its facilities.
Job
Summary:
The Laboratory
Technician will conduct generalized laboratory examination for diseases
diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control.



Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The
    Lab Tech will be analyzing and interpreting laboratory results and
    submitting reports.
  • Liaising
    with ward management in preparation of patients for laboratory tests.
  • The job holder will also be Advising clinical staff in collection,
    handling and transportation of specimens to the laboratory.
  • Participating
    in primary health care activities.
  • Compiling,
    analyzing and preparing performance reports for submission to relevant
    authorities.
  • Participating
    in quality assurance for laboratories.
  • Participating
    in research activities.
  • Adhering
    to professional code of conduct and Ethics.
     
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
  • The
    job holder should possess a Diploma in Medical laboratory Techniques from
    a recognized institution.
  • The
    applicant should be registered with the Allied Health Professionals
    Council.
  • Possession
    of a valid Annual practicing License [APL] a must.
  • Excellent
    interpersonal skills
  • Good
    Customer and Patient care skills
  • All
    Candidates must exhibit excellent professionalism and uphold ethical values
