 Job
Summary:
 The Logistics
& Fleet Manager will give leadership expertise  in the delivery of efficient fleet services so
as to contribute to achieving the OPCO’s and Group’s strategy, growth and
profit objectives with respect to a fleet of vehicles and fuel.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Managing
    the special equipment, trucks, all vehicles and generators.
  • Managing
    the department staff, including responsibility for hiring, scheduling
    performance management, discipline and authorization of overtime in
    conjunction with the CTO.
  • Regularly
    communicating with CTO and dispatch regarding status of deliverables and
    other work.
  • Submitting
    regular reports including, road calls, break downs, accidents, fuel
    consumption and performance.
  • Administering
    activities connected with the purchase of workshop tools, automotive
    repair supplies, repair parts, fuel supplies and suppliers and
    accessories.
  • Directing
    a preventive maintenance program to minimize cost and maximize use of
    equipment and fuel.
  • Directing
    a quantity and quality control program to maintain satisfactory levels of
    work place.
  • Recommending
    reduction or additions to personnel, facilities and equipment and changes
    in level of service.
  • Administering
    a testing and inspection program to determine quality, suitability, and
    compliance with the specifications for vehicles, parts, accessories and
    materials for all vehicles and generators.
  • Preparing
    a preliminary automotive maintenance section budget request.
  • Supervising
    complicated mechanical maintenance and repair work on automobiles;
    generators and other motorized equipment used in the field of
    transportation, hauling and maintenance purposes.
  • Supervising
    Vehicle and Generator Maintenance and repair.
  • Supervising
    and diagnose complex vehicle or generator problems and use advanced
    vehicle and generator repair techniques.
  • Supervising
    all fuel suppliers and sub-contractors in accordance with corporate
    governance.
  • Ensure
    operational focus on fuel panel initiatives ensuring key initiatives are
    kept on track to achieve targeted fuel burn reduction.
  • Deliver
    communication to increase fuel efficiency awareness across the airline.
  • Design
    and Publish fuel panel dashboard monthly to operations and engineering
    senior management teams.
  • Provide
    regular updates to the sustainability group, internal web sites on fuel
    saving progress against budgeted target.
     
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • Ten
    or more years hands-on working experience in operations and managing a
    large fleet of HGV’s (Heavy Goods Vehicles), vehicles and generators.
  • Related
    qualification in mechanical engineering
  • Five
    or more years experience in a managerial position
  • Excellent
    management and leadership skills
  • Strong
    interpersonal skills
  • Strong
    team management and motivational skills
  • Innovativeness
    and creativity
  • Good
    project management skills
