About UPMB:
The Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) is a leading Christian Organization coordinating over 260 health centres and 17 hospitals all over Uganda. UPMB is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to implement a five year Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded HIV program within its network. This will be through a UPMB program of National Expansion and Strengthening of sustainable HIV/ TB (NESH) services in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Family Planning Project Officer will be charged with ensuring effective project coordination, implementation, monitoring and achieving project objectives while working closely with the key implementing partners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Give technical support to UPMB member units to implement the project efficiently and effectively throughout the project life cycle.
  • Participate in the development and or adoption of relevant guidelines and protocols on Family planning service delivery for dissemination to IPS.
  • Lead RH/FP health education, community mobilization and awareness within the scope of the project.
  • Conduct reproductive health and family planning activities in conjunction with the designated field officers, diocesan health departments, district health offices and all key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate training of community health workers (CHW) and religious leaders on Family Planning.
  • Supervise the project sites and give support to implementing facilities.
  • Monitor project progress and keep record of all project activities.
  • Prepare and submit timely and periodic project reports.
  • Follow up programs as per the work plans.
  • Organize meetings and communicate with stakeholders. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or related field.
  • At least three years work experience in project work and a good understanding of MoH policies, procedures and systems.
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skill with competencies in training and writing.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability
  • High level of integrity and ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Committed Christian.
